Katie started her Professional Career in the Corporate sector when she was 23 years old, 4 years later she founded and operated a Recruitment firm specialising in Executive/White Collar, Blue Collar and the Fashion industry. After 23 years operating this business 24/7, it was time to leave city life and move to the glorious Mornington Peninsula. Since then she have been fortunate to start a small home based business exploring her creativity coupled with her love for food! In 2019 Katie launched a Catering business which was very successful but affected by COVID in both positive and negative ways. In late 2020 her commitment to sourcing and supplying Local products has become even greater and she created “the peel thing” .
A range of delicious dehydrated local citrus, with delicious pineapple added recently to the range, ‘The Peel Thing’ range is one of a kind and evolves with the seasons available produce, dehydrated at the peek of their season.
We enjoyed dropping a slice of blood orange into a Negroni, slices of lemon in a beautiful Tomato & lemon fish dish, pair with cheese or just simply munch on a slice of pineapple to imagine you’re on a warm sandy beach in Queensland 🏝😎
The local community has been supportive and receptive to Katie’s exciting range of products and she is currently moving in a positive direction growing from strength to strength.
