BatchMade is Sam Talbot’s brainchild and established in 2017.
After working in the clothing industry for 30 years in Sydney and Brisbane, Sam’s longing to live closer to her family brought her to Sorrento. Cooking from the kitchen of Mr. Morse in Sorrento was a great start for Batch Made but soon after she outgrew the kitchen and moved out of Mr. Morse.
Sam started cooking with her grandmother and learnt to make jams and chutneys using home grown fruit and vegetables. Luckily, Sam inherited her grandma’s hand written recipe book and have adapted many of the current recipes from it.
The ideal day for Sam a day spent in the kitchen cooking jams, chutneys and pickles for BatchMade. She sources locally grown fruit and vegetables from the Peninsula where possible, and often trade surplus home grown fruit or vegetables for some preserves.
BatchMade’s preserves range from pickles to chutneys and jams with on added pectin or preservatives so what you get is 100% nature with added love from Sam and her grandma. Most of her preserves are kept seasonal so what you get was at it best in the season.
